Man Utd starlet calls out Ferdinand in meltdown after Man City win CL

Manchester United starlet Brandon Williams took aim at club legend Rio Ferdinand for praising rivals Manchester City. In an extraordinary social media outburst, Williams slammed the former defender and wound up City supporters after their historic Champions League triumph.

The full-back, who has struggled for game time under Erik ten Hag, tagged Ferdinand and ranted: “Bet you wouldn’t congratulate if you [were a] player. Keep the same morals. [Two] face are boring.”

In a string of posts shared to his Instagram story, Williams continued to take aim at City and Ferdinand. In an apparent second dig at Ferdinand, he added: “You don’t praise, simple as. Fakes for [money emojis].”

City became just the second English team to complete a treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. Rivals United managed the feat in 1998-99 and Williams referenced the fact the Red Devils had done it first.

“Nobody wants sloppy seconds,” the 22-year-old said, alongside devil emojis.

Noticing that City fans were growing angry at his posts, Williams said: “City fans more on me than watching history. I love it.”

Accompanying his posts with several laughing emojis, he continued: “Wow, you lot of the opps follow me. Enjoy (don’t watch?)”

Working at the Champions League final as a pundit for BT Sport, Ferdinand had gushed with praise for City and head coach Pep Guardiola. “He will forever be immortal for the club, for the game,” the 44-year-old said.

The former England captain, who lost two Champions League finals to Guardiola’s Barcelona, added: “Man City will not rest on their laurels, that culture is woven into this football club. It is scary for everyone else.”
