Manchester United boss Solskjaer’s stance on another signing after Sancho and Varane

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opened up on the club’s transfer business so far ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener with Leeds. Tom Heaton, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane have all joined the Red Devils this summer. And the 48-year-old isn’t ruling out more reinforcements, either, as he plots a path to title glory.

Manchester United have been busy in this summer’s transfer window.

Heaton was the first player to arrive, with the veteran arriving on a free from Aston Villa where he’ll now provide competition for David De Gea and Dean Henderson.

Sancho then followed, with the 21-year-old joining from Borussia Dortmund in a massive £73million deal.

And United have also sealed a deal for Varane, with an official announcement regarding the Real Madrid star expected by the end of the week.

At present, the Red Devils have been linked with Kieran Trippier, Ruben Neves, Saul Niguez and Eduardo Camavinga as they eye the title next time out.

Solskjaer isn’t the only person at United to have recently addressed the signings of Sancho and Varane.

David De Gea has also had his say, admitting he’s ‘delighted’ at seeing the pair arrive.

The Spain international said: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome new faces and quality players to add to the group, it’s always a positive.

“We still have the odd player to join up with the group, but [I’m] delighted with the new signings.”

And De Gea also hinted he was particularly happy at seeing Heaton arrive.

The former Villa star is back at Old Trafford, 11 years after he left the club for Cardiff.

And a happy De Gea said: “[I’m especially excited to welcome] Tom, the keeper, who I’m with a lot of more of the time.

“He’s a great bloke and a top keeper. He’s really going to bring a lot to the group and let’s hope it’s the same with the rest of the signings too.

“They have great quality and I reckon that it’ll be easy for them to settle in.”

United kick off their Premier League season against Leeds on Saturday (12.45pm).
