Manchester United ‘discussing three signings’ for January
Manchester United are reportedly discussing the possibility of signing two new right-backs and a striker in January. The Red Devils have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes under Erik ten Hag in recent months and have climbed to fifth in the Premier League table.
United appeared to be in for a dire season back in August when they were defeated 2-1 by Brighton in their opening game of the campaign, before being embarrassed 4-0 by Brentford a week later. But they have since won eight out of 12 Premier League matches.
Ten Hag’s side will be desperate to secure a top-four Premier League finish and cement a return to the Champions League. And they may need reinforcements in January to give themselves the best chance of succeeding.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, United have scouted Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong as they are internally discussing the prospect of signing a new right-back if the out-of-favour Aaron Wan-Bissaka departs the club. And in the next few days, club chiefs will also discuss whether they want to add a new striker to their ranks.

Meanwhile, United have only found the back of the net 20 times in their 14 Premier League games this season, the second lowest goalscoring tally of any side in the top 10. And they will no longer be able to call on blockbuster star Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal striker, who fell down the pecking order under Ten Hag, hit out at the club during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan ahead of the World Cup. And his Red Devils contract has since been terminated.
Dutch duo Memphis Depay and Conor Gakpo have recently been linked with moves to Old Trafford, while United are also said to be keen on Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix.
