Marvel Series Wonder Man Finds Its Grim Reaper

Marvel’s Wonder Man has found his nemesis in the form of Demetrius Grosse.

According to TV Line, the former Fear the Walking Dead actor has been cast as Wonder Man’s brother, Eric Williams.

Rumors of Gosse’s involvement apparently began to surface a few weeks ago, with a Patreon post hinting at his inclusion in the upcoming show. Now, it looks as though he’s landed the role and will star opposite Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who is suiting up as the titular Wonder Man.

Wonder Man made his comic book debut back in The Avengers #9 in October 1964 as Simon Williams – a skilled engineer who gains superpowers following a deal with Marvel supervillain, Baron Zemo.

Originally a nemesis of Tony Stark and The Avengers, Wonder Man eventually sides with the famed superheroes to save their lives… at the expense of his own. It’s this tragic event that causes Wonder Man’s brother, Eric, to seek revenge, blaming The Avengers for his brother’s death.

Eric Williams takes up the mantle of Grim Reaper, going head-to-head with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes… and it looks as though this vengeful supervillain could be the character Grosse will play in the upcoming TV show.

Alongside Grosse, it looks as though a familiar MCU name will be returning too – none other than Trevor Slattery, the down-on-his-luck thesp who appeared in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi played by Sir Ben Kingsley.

Wonder Man filming is expected to begin this spring with no premiere date set as yet.

As well as Marvel’s Wonder Man, there are plenty of other super-powered TV shows in the works including Echo, Loki Season 2, Secret Invasion, and even Ironheart.
