Marvel World of Heroes Shuts Down on July 16, and Players Can Transfer Game Currency to Pokemon Go
Niantic announced on June 29 that it is no longer working on Marvel World of Heroes and will be sunsetting the game after a series of layoffs and closure of its LA studio. The game is now set to shut down its services completely on July 14. The developer has now notified players that they can transfer their purchased in-game currency to Pokemon Go.
Marvel World of Heroes shutting down
Marvel World of Heroes will no longer remain playable after 10:30 pm IST on July 14. As a result, players will obviously lose all their progress and items in the game up to that point. However, players who bought Cosmic Crystals, the game’s premium currency, with real money will get to transfer their balance to Pokemon Go for a limited time. The transfer of the Cosmic Crystal will be to the “near equivalent value” to Poke Coins in Pokemon Go. There was no detailed explanation from Niantic about the near equivalent value and how exactly will that be calculated.
The developer has also listed the eligibility criteria for this transfer and mentioned that all transfers will be made after August 31, 2023. You can apply for a transfer request by filling out this form.
Here are the eligibility criteria for the transfer of Cosmic Crystals from Marvel World of Heroes to Poke Coins in Pokemon Go.
- Valid for accounts in “good standing.”
- Players can only transfer Cosmic Crystals that were purchased. Currency earned as free reward is not eligible for the transfer.
- Balance from Marvel World of Heroes will be removed after the transfer.
Niantic has also put a deadline for this transfer request, meaning players cannot ask for this transfer of currency after July 31, 2023.
