Matteo Berrettini had to come from a set down to beat Brandon Nakashima in the first round of the Australian Open, winning 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(5), 6-3. The Italian tennis star enjoyed his best season to date last year in reaching the Wimbledon final and climbing up to seventh in the ATP rankings.
Bigger and better things are expected this year too with hopes of achieving a career-best result at the Australian Open.
He was forced to withdraw from his fourth round match at the Australian Open last year due to an abdominal strain.
And it appears as though Berrettini is suffering from another stomach issue this time around, albeit not muscular.
During the match against Nakashima, Berrettini took three toilet breaks as well as a medical timeout during the second set.

The 25-year-old appeared out of sorts in the opening exchanges, but battled through the stomach problems to advance into the second round.
And Berrettini made light of his ongoing issue after the win, writing on the camera lens: “Imodium, grazie!”
He was then asked about the message in his on-court interview, admitting he had been feeling “sick”.
“I’ve been feeling sick with my stomach, let’s say that,” Berrettini said.
