Instagram and Threads apps to be interconnected
9to5Google managed to grab the APK file of the app and decompile it to get more information on the upcoming service from Meta. According to the report, the APK file was of the early version of the Threads app and based on the details found within the APK file, the Instagram app and the Threads app will be deeply integrated with each other.
Here are some key details revealed as a part of APK Insight by 9to5Google:
If you will follow someone on Instagram, it won’t be necessary to follow them on the Threads app as well. However, the app will offer users the option to enable auto-follow people on Threads that they are already following on Instagram.
If you want to keep your Threads profile private, then the app will provide you with the choice to keep your Threads account private and ensure that not everyone who has permission to follow on Instagram can follow you on Threads. But, there’s also an option to pre-approve it.
Threads profile will be deeply connected to your Instagram profile. Both platforms will use the same username and display name and in fact, the profile picture will also be the same as Instagram.
If you block someone on one service it will automatically get blocked on another service.
Users will have the option to follow and unfollow different profiles on both Threads and Instagram.
Instagram Threads will launch tomorrow
According to the threads.net landing page, Meta is set to launch the Twitter rival app tomorrow. The app has been confirmed to become available on both Android and iOS platforms soon after the launch.
