MG Comet EV price in India (expected)

The MG Comet EV has been confirmed and is likely to be launched sometime in mid-2023. The EV is expected to be priced around the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which is around the same ballpark as the Tata Tiago EV price (Rs 8.69 – 11.99 lakh) and the Citroen eC3 (11.50 – 12.43 lakh).

MG Comet EV specifications

The compact footprint will be the key strength of the Comet EV. The vehicle is expected to be just 2.9m long, which would make it the shortest car in India to be on sale in the country. The design of the vehicle is likely to be similar to its Chinese counterpart the Wuling Air EV. This means that the MG Comet EV will get a boxy tall boy design with a 2,100mm wheelbase making it spacious on the inside.

The MG Comet EV is rumoured to get a 20-25kWh capacity battery capacity and will be based on a skateboard platform. The battery pack is likely to be sourced locally and could be provided by Tata AutoComp. The MG Comet EV is anticipated to be capable of delivering a range of up to 300km certified by iCAT. The vehicle is likely to use a front axle-mounted motor with a peak power output of 68hp.

Additionally, the vehicle is expected to get wraparound LED lamps with light bars, alloy wheels, dual-tone paint options, two 10.25-inch screens, dual-tone interiors, connected car tech, voice commands, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and could even get a sunroof.
