Microsoft makes it easier for iPhone users to connect with Windows 11 – Times of India

Microsoft has been working on making Apple devices and services integrate seamlessly into the Windows 11 operating system. In pursuit, the software giant has already rolled out iCloud integration, Apple TV+, Apple Music and other Apple services to Windows 11. To take things forward, Microsoft has updated the Phone Link app with iOS support. The added support now allows users to connect their iPhones to Windows 11 PCs and access messages, calls, text, etc right on the PC.
How does this help users
If one thing that the Apple ecosystem has always managed to do is offer the best possible integration of services, devices and apps. If you happen to own a Mac, iPad, iPhone or other Apple devices and are also involved in Apple services, then all these devices and services work well together without much effort.
However, cross-platform integration has never been Apple’s strongest suit and neither was it for the Windows operating system. However, with all the Apple services getting integrated into Windows 11, things have become easier for Apple users to use a Windows device.
The Phone Link’s iOS support makes things even better as the feature allows users to integrate iPhone into Windows and use features and functions the way it works between Mac and iPhone.
The integration allows users to make and receive calls directly on the Windows 11 PC. Along with this, users can also access messages and notifications and interact with them as well.
However, it is not as feature-rich as the Android integration and only offers the option to access notifications, messages and calls on Windows 11 PCs.
Gradual rollout
It is also important to note that the Phone Link update is rolling out now, but it’s happening gradually. So, it may take a while before it is available for you and all Windows 11 users across the globe.
