Microsoft has offered a sneak-peek of several upcoming games from various developers in the recently held Xbox-Bethesda Games Showcase event. At this event, the tech giant announced that the company’s highly popular Flight Simulator franchise will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in November 2022. To commemorate this event, Microsoft has announced multiple new updates for the game that will not only pay tribute to the previous Flight Simulator games but will also introduce new and highly anticipated aircraft types. The 40th Anniversary Edition will be available as a free update for players who already own Microsoft Flight Simulator or play it through the Xbox Game Pass.
New aircrafts coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator
Microsoft has revealed that multiple old and new aeroplanes will be included in the 40th-anniversary update of the Microsoft Flight Simulator. The update will include historical aircraft like — the Wright Flyer, Ryan NYP (“Spirit of St. Louis”), Douglas DC-3 and De Havilland Canada DHC-2-Beaver.
The game will also add a few helicopters like — the Bell-407 and the Guimbal Cabri G2. Microsoft Flight Simulator’s 40th-anniversary update will even include two gliders DG Flugzeugbau LG8-18 and DG Flugzeugbau DG1001E neo along with a passenger aircraft — Airbus A310.
Halo Infinite Pelican aircraft
Apart from the above-mentioned ones, the game will also feature the Halo Infinite Pelican aircraft. Microsoft has partnered with the Halo franchise and 343 Industries to bring the highly detailed version of the aircraft straight into Flight Simulator.
Moreover, the franchise recently announced the Top Gun: Maverick Expansion update to celebrate the theatre release of the movie. The latest update features the F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft and three training missions.
