Microsoft on the go: Bing Chat can now be used in Chrome and Safari browsers | Digit

Microsoft has started rolling out its AI chatbot, the Bing Chat to Google Chrome and Apple’s Safari web browsers. Bing Chat is only available for select users for now in its latest test. Bing Chat started from Microsoft’s Edge browser. However, the tech-giant is now implementing its chatbot into other browsers as well. To access it on Chrome or Safari, users need to visit the Bing website and click on the “Chat” icon.

Microsoft has made some changes in Bing Chat like a lower character limit of 2,000 instead of 4,000 for prompts. Moving on, Bing Chat on Chrome and Safari has a conversation limit of five questions, whereas Edge users can ask up to 30 questions in the same conversation.

Once the question limit is reached, Bing Chat will display “Sorry, this conversation has reached its limit”, and you can’t ask questions from the chatbot in that conversation. However, five questions doesn’t mean you won’t be able to chat further. The chatbot will allow you five questions per session. When you are done with five questions, use the ‘broom’ option and then you can chat more.

In addition to that, Microsoft has also introduced a dark mode for Bing Chat. If you like less bright displays then you can access it by navigating to the Appearance menu.

If you can’t access the Bing Chat, Microsoft’s director of communications, Caitlin Roulston, assures that access will expand once the pre-launch testing procedures are complete, quoting “We are excited to expand access to even more users once our standard testing procedures are complete”.

Overall, this expansion of Bing Chat to other browsers is an exciting move for both users and Microsoft. With the current testing and improvements, it is likely that Microsoft will roll out the Bing Chat to other browsers very soon. However, except for the question’s limits, users may like Microsoft’s Bing Chat.
