Microsoft reveals PC Game Pass Friend Referral program, not enough to save the disaster that is Redfall | Digit

If there is a game that encapsulates Western development, it has to be the train wreck that is Redfall. Arkane’s latest Zoomer cringe-core was the straw that really broke the camel’s back. Gamers, far and wide, were united in their distaste for the game. Not to mention the entire CMA blocking the Activision Blizzard sale drama! Microsoft must be looking at the reviews and thinking about how they’re going to spin this one. Well, look no further than the Game Pass Friend Referral program. In the hope that they can boost the dismal player base on Redfall, Microsoft thinks that throwing gamers crumbs like a referral program will actually pull them in.

Xbox PC Game Pass Referral Program announced

The service will allow one PC Game Pass user to invite their friends and family to try the service out for 14 days. The company has limited the service to upto 5 users so if you do want to invite your buddies, you’ll have to be a little judicious about it. To avail of the service, all you have to do is log in to your PC Game Pass account and click on the ‘Give PC Game Pass’ button to activate the service. You can then send the code to your friends and family through email or text. This will give them about 30 days to redeem the service after which the invitation will be rescinded. You can then send them another code in another 30 days.

Xbox Series X Review (After 2 Months of Use)

Microsoft has come out in front of the Redfal controversy and said that this move was taken because they noticed a slowdown in subscribers on PC. Xbox head Phil Spencer said that they’ve seen the stagnation of Game Pass on consoles and wanted to capture a larger share of the PC market. But, let’s all be real here. Xbox has lost this generation of the console wars with a dismal collection of terrible games that no one in their right mind should even play. They’re on their way to joining the four horsemen of the gaming apocalypse, Ubisoft, Activision, EA and Bethesda. The Series X and S are glorified media centres with the occasional game that makes it through.
