Microsoft tests animated icons for Windows 11 Settings app: What to expect – Times of India
According to a report by XDA Developers, some Windows 11 beta testers have recently noticed that Microsoft updated the settings app of the OS with animated icons. The report also mentions that a Twitter user has also noted that Microsoft has a name for these features, the tech giant calls them — “delightful unexpected moments of joy.”
How will the new icons look
As per the report, these new animated icons have changed the “static icons in the regular version of Windows 11.” The report notes that the PC screen in the system icon on the sidebar was seen to glare on and off and the Bluetooth icon was seen to squeeze itself.
Moreover, the icon for the Wi-Fi bar filled itself and the gaming controller icon was found jumping up and down along with the refresh icon was seen spinning around, the report suggests.
Microsoft has tested many such experiences with Windows Insiders. Earlier, the company reportedly rolled out a new taskbar animation on the login where the taskbar icons in Windows 11 would zoom-in, instead of flying up.
However, the company hasn’t provided an official schedule for when these features that are available in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider program will be included with the stable versions of Windows 11.
