MiHoYo Is Holding First Public Playtest of Its Upcoming Game Zenless Zone Zero at Gamescom 2023

Genshin Impact developer, MiHoYo, have announced its lineup for Gamescom 2023, and one of the major highlights will be the first public testing of its upcoming RPG, Zenless Zone Zero. Alongside the testing, there will also be live stage performances, offline contests, merchandise sales, and more.

Zenless Zone Zero is highly anticipated by fans of the developer, since it was first announced in May 2022. The game is set in the post-apocalyptic city of New Eridu, where supernatural creatures called Ethereals have taken over. Players will assume the role of “demon-dimension explorers” and their mission is to close down these dimensions infested by the Ethereals.

Multiple closed playtests have already taken place in the past. However, at Gamescom 2023, which will be held in Cologne, Germany from August 23rd to 26th, the public will have the opportunity to experience hands-on gameplay of Zenless Zone Zero for the first time. The main stage will resemble the protagonists’ Random Play video store. Players will have the chance to try out the game, win exciting souvenirs, interact with cosplayers, and immerse themselves in the post-apocalyptic adventure with an early glimpse of New Eridu, the last shelter of modern civilisation.

In addition to the dedicated booth for Zenless Zone Zero, fans attending Gamescom 2023 will also have the opportunity to enjoy various experiences. These include live stage performances, contests, and merchandise sales, all themed around other popular games from the HoYoverse, such as Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Honkai Impact 3rd.
