Millie Bobby Brown Addresses Popular Stranger Things Fan Theory

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has addressed a popular fan theory .

During an interview with ET, the Stranger Things star addressed a popular theory that fan-favorite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) will return in Season 5.

“I mean, it’s a good fan theory,” she said.

Eddie died during the epic conclusion to Stranger Things Season 4 which saw the rocker sacrificing himself to buy the gang more time while rocking an epic rendition of Metallica’s Master of Puppets on his trusty axe.

But one fan theory suggests it won’t be the last we see of him.

Essentially, the theory suggests that Eddie will return in Season 5, but it won’t actually be Eddie – instead, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) would be using him as a vessel to get to Eleven and the rest of the gang.

But while Eleven herself thinks it’s a good theory, she admits it’s also not the first time a character she loved has been killed off on the show. And the Duffer Brothers almost killed off another one, too.

“Yeah, it sucks sometimes,” she said. “I loved Billy. I loved Dacre Montgomery, who was killed off in Season 3. I had a really good relationship with him, so for me, it was really hard to let go of that.”

Montgomery starred as the older brother of Max (Sadie Sink) who had a pretty turbulent relationship with… well… just about everyone.

However, he too was used as a vessel – this time by the Mind Flayer.

Used by the entity to gather the citizens of Hawkins and help him assemble a fleshy form, Billy was eventually killed by the Flayer during the Battle of Starcourt Mall where he sacrificed himself to help Eleven defeat his master.

Could we see Eddie Munson appear in a similar form? For now, we’ll have to wait and see, but as a fan-favorite, I can’t help thinking Eddie deserves better.
