‘Minecraft’ mod completely recreated ‘Doom’ including the demons

A modder has released a pack that turns Minecraft into Doom by adding levels, demons, and guns.

The mod is available to download now, directly through Sibology’s webpage. Once installed, Doomed: Demons of the Nether will provide players with several levels inspired by the 2016 shooter from id Software.

To install the mod, users should follow the instructions, which can be found on the above webpage as well. It requires Minecraft to be back patched to version 1.16.3, and players will then need to instal the adventure map and resource pack. The mod currently only works in singleplayer.

Once installed, Minecraft will be altered with a Martian landscape, industrial buildings, and gameplay from Doom. Staples from the shooter such as gore nests, a trip to hell, and the BFG are all present too. The chainsaw even returns and drops ammo when an enemy is killed with it.

Recently, a German Minecraft group recreated the city of Mondstadt from Genshin Impact. They created the city at a 1:1.15 scale because Minecraft has “limited ways of getting details into your build”. Some of the more important buildings in the city have fully decorated interiors.

YouTube announced recently that Minecraft had received over 1 trillion views on the platform. “If each of those one trillion views were just one second long, that would add up to over 30,000 years. If each view were a Minecraft block 12 inches square, you could build a stack that reached from the Earth to the sun and back — with about seven million miles to spare. That’s how big one trillion views is,” YouTube said of the achievement.

In other news, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has asked gamers why they react so negatively to NFTs. In a Twitter thread, Shinoda provided their opinion on why gamers should be more excited at the prospect of NFTs.
