This week’s finale pits the Packers against the Lions on Monday Night Football. Each of these NFC North foes are eyeing a bounce-back win, but Vegas sportsbooks clearly think the Packers are more likely to come away victorious, opening this one with a massive 10.5-point spread and an over/under of 49. It’s a “get-right” game for the Packers after being humiliated by the Saints last week. Those in NFL DFS contests will likely lean toward a Packers-heavy build, but our DraftKings Showdown lineup has a couple key Lions, as well.
On the injury front, Detroit will be without Tyrell Williams (concussion). He’s not leaving a ton of targets behind — Williams received three looks in Week 1 — but his absence puts opportunity on the plates of others in the passing game. Meanwhile, the Packers ruled out linebacker Za’Darius Smith and safety Vernon Scott.
A quick reminder of the scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They’re full-point PPR, and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Lions vs. Packers
$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.
Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): QB Aaron Rodgers, Packers ($17,100)
Sometimes simplicity is the best policy. Despite the laid back demeanor he projected in the wake of Green Bay’s 38-3 Week 1 loss, Rodgers and his team will be locked in on flushing away the bad memories. We’re unable to stack him with Davante Adams ($11,800) in this build, but he’s demonstrated a strong — or growing — connection with multiple pieces of this offense.

FLEX: RB Aaron Jones, Packers ($10,400)
Jones is a fixture in the Packers offense and a candidate to threaten for the three-point DraftKings bonus for eclipsing 100 yards rushing (or receiving). Jones totaled 22 yards on seven touches last week, so he and the team will be anxious to get the ground attack moving. He’s surpassed 30 DK points on five occasions since 2019.
MORE MNF DFS: FanDuel single game lineup
FLEX: TE T.J. Hockenson, Lions ($9,600)
Hockenson is locked into this build and is going to be a weekly fixture for fantasy owners across all formats. The Saints had success targeting their tight ends last week, and Hockenson delivered, as well, finishing Week 1 with an 8-97-1 line on 11 targets.
FLEX: WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Packers ($5,600)
Valdes-Scantling has always had big-play ability, but fantasy owners needed more consistent volume before jumping on the bandwagon with both feet. Time will tell how consistent his weekly opportunity will be this season, but he paced the Packers with eight targets in Week 1. Adams is the unquestioned target hog, but if the reports of Valdes-Scantling earning Rodgers’ trust this offseason have legitimacy, we could see him more involved this year.
FLEX: WR Quintez Cephus, Lions ($3,800)
All seven of Cephus’ targets came late in the game last week as the Lions were mounting a comeback. We like betting on the connection he found with Goff, especially with Williams sidelined. The opportunity is there for Cephus to establish himself as the top target behind Hockenson and the Lions running backs.
FLEX: RB AJ Dillon, Packers ($3,000)
Vegas paints a picture of the type of game in which two backs can put in worthwhile DFS work. Plus, head coach Matt LaFleur has demonstrated a willingness to utilize two backs liberally, both in Green Bay and Tennessee. The Packers used a second-round pick on Dillon in 2020. They’re not going to be shy about using him this season and beyond.
