Monday Night Football FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 8 Giants-Chiefs single-game tournaments

It’s been a rocky season for the Chiefs. They’re fresh off of a blowout loss at the hands of the Titans and will look to get back on the winning track to close out Week 8 on Monday Night Football against the Giants. The G-Men will remain without star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and wide receiver Kenny Golladay (knee). The Chiefs, meanwhile, will continue to play without their starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee), but fortunately there are still plenty of high-upside DFS options for our FanDuel single game lineup picks.

Here are the notable settings for FanDuel’s single-game contests: The point total for the “MVP” is multiplied by 1.5, but he doesn’t cost any additional money like the “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown contests. FanDuel’s default scoring is half-point PPR and four-point passing TDs, and there are no bonuses for 300-yard/100-yard games like on DraftKings.

FanDuel Single Game DFS Picks: Giants vs. Chiefs

$60,000 budget, need at least one player from each team

MVP (1.5x points): QB Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ($17,000)

It must be nice when what Mahomes has done through seven games is considered a “down” season. Mahomes has eclipsed the 30-point barrier on FanDuel on a pair of occasions, and even though the Giants can be plucky on defense, this is a spot where we expect Mahomes and Co. to find their groove. Another 30-point performance is a reasonable expectation.

FLEX: QB Daniel Jones, Giants ($15,000)

Jones has not been as productive on the ground in recent weeks, but we know he can rack up yardage — and fantasy points — with his legs. The Giants are still down a couple of key weapons, but their cupboard has been restocked to a degree, so Jones will have more support on Monday night. The Chiefs have been one of the worst defenses in the league this season. It might not be pretty, but Jones and the Giants should eventually be able to serve up a hearty serving of statistical production in this matchup.

MORE MNF: DK lineup | Shepard update | Toney update

FLEX: RB Darrel Williams, Chiefs ($11,500)

The Chiefs got behind big against the Titans last week, relegating Williams to a secondary role. He handled the ball just eight times a week after receiving 24 touches. On paper, the Giants aren’t likely to put the Chiefs behind the eight-ball in a similar manner, so chances are good that Williams will enjoy the benefits of a positive game script. He was active on the ground, through the air, and in the red zone against the Washington Football Team in Week 6. We should see more of the same on Monday.

FLEX: WR Kadarius Toney, Giants ($8,500)

There is some risk rolling with Toney coming off of his ankle sprain, but the reward makes the gamble worthwhile. Toney has been in and out of the lineup all season, but he’s still second on the team with 30 targets. The only player ahead of him — Sterling Shepard — owns a pedestrian 10.7 yards per catch. Toney will be the most dangerous player on the field for the Giants in what appears to be a friendly matchup. As long as he doesn’t aggravate his injury, he could inflict significant damage on a porous Chiefs defense.

FLEX: WR Mecole Hardman, Chiefs ($7,500)

Hardman is fourth among active Chiefs in touches, and he trails only Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce in targets. Hill and Kelce justifiably dominate Mahomes’ attention, but when the Giants are able to discourage him from targeting one of his top two options, Hardman will be next in the pecking order. He’s demonstrated big-play chops on more than one occasion over his career. A touchdown or splash play could be all we need from Hardman to complement our other four studs.
