Moon Knight Episode 4: Who Is the Hippo Goddess That Appeared Towards the End?

Episode 4 of Moon Knight gave fans an opportunity to enter the mind of Steven Grant and Marc Spector, after they were shot by Arthur Harrow.

The two were stuck inside the afterlife, which took the form of a psychiatric facility, where they met the likes of Arthur Harrow, who presumed the role of their doctor.

However, upon escaping, the show ended on the two bumping into a mysterious character. The mysterious character in question was a hippopotamus, that fans might have seen before, as it was none other than the Egyptian Goddess Taweret.

While Taweret’s presence scared the hell out of both Steven and Marc, the Goddess might be their best chance to escape the afterlife, and stop Arthur Harrow from executing his plan of resurrecting Ammit.

In Egyptian Mythology, Taweret is the Goddess of Maternity and Childbirth. She is also known as the protector of mother and families. However, for Steven Grant and Marc Spector, she will be vital in their plans, as she’s the symbol of rejuvenation and rebirth.

This isn’t the first time Taweret showed up in Moon Knight. Earlier on in the series, Steven Grant displayed his admiration for Egyptian mythology, and we even saw some merchandise at the museum guest shop featuring plushies of Goddess Taweret.

With no Khonshu to help Marc and Steven, the duo will most likely partner up with Goddess Taweret in order to get out of their hellhole. It will be a while before the avatars of Moon Knight trust Taweret. But, eventually, we will see them finally escape the psychiatric facility in order to face Harrow in a battle that fans can’t wait to see.
