Moto E40 with 6.5-inch HD+ display, 90Hz refresh rate launched in India at Rs 9,499 | Digit

Motorola has unveiled a new smartphone in India, the Moto E40. As with other Moto E-Series smartphones, the phone is aimed at the affordable segment and comes with features such as a high refresh rate display, triple-rear camera and more. Here’s what the new smartphone has to offer.

Motorola Moto E40: Specifications

The Moto E40 packs a reasonably large 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ display. However, it packs a 90Hz refresh rate, which is not that common at this price range. It is also powered by a Unisoc Tiger T700 octa-core chipset. This chipset is manufactured using the 12nm node and features six power efficient Cortex A55 cores and two high performance Cortex A75 cores. It also comes with 4GB RAM.

At the back is a 48MP triple-rear camera with Quad Pixel technology that is said to offer 4x better light sensitivity for improved low-light pictures. The trio of cameras is completed with a depth sensor and a macro lens. The depth sensor allows users to take Portrait photos, while the macro lens lives up to its name by allowing users to indulge in macro photography.

The Moto E40 also packs a large 5000mAh battery. The company notes that this should be enough for the phone to last up to 40 hours on a single charge.

Other features of the Moto E40 includes a water-repellant design and a dedicated microSD card slot. Motorola notes that the device supports up to 1TB of expandable storage. The phone comes with Android 11 and as with all other Motorola devices, the Moto E40 packs a near-stock Android 11 experience. There is also a dedicated button on the side to bring up the Google Assistant.

Motorola Moto E40: Price and availability

The Moto E40 is priced at Rs 9,499 and will be available in Caron Gray and Pink Clay colour variants. The phone will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from October 17 onwards.
