Moto G52 with Snapdragon 680, 50MP triple cameras launched: price, specifications

Key specifications include a 90Hz AMOLED display compared to its predecessor’s 120Hz IPS LCD panel. It retains the same 50MP triple camera setup on the back, a 16MP selfie snapper and a 5,000mAh battery. Unlike the Moto G51, the G52 doesn’t come with 5G network connectivity.

Moto G52 price starts at Euro 249.99 (Rs 14,300) and comes in Charcoal Grey, Porcelain White and Glacier Blue colour options. The handset will roll out in Europe first, followed by Latin America and India in the coming weeks.

Moto G52 flaunts a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2400×1080 pixels resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio and punch-hole cutout. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. This is an upgrade from the Snapdragon 480+ SoC on the predecessor, the Moto G51. The handset boots Android 12 based MyUX custom skin out of the box. It packs 4GB / 6GB RAM and 128GB storage that is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.

Moving to optics, the Moto G52 has triple cameras on the back, comprising a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, an 8MP ultra-wide/depth camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. There is a 16MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats.

The Moto G52 is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. There is an IP52 rating for splash resistance and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support on board. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC. It measures 160.98 x 74.46 x 7.99mm and weighs 169 grams.

Moto G51 has a 6.8-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the G52 has a slightly smaller 6.6-inch screen but with an AMOLED panel and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Moto G52 runs on the latest Android 12 OS while the G51 ships with the dated Android 11 skin.

Compared to the Snapdragon 480+ that enables 5G network support on the G51, the Moto G52 ships with the Snapdragon 680 chipset. However, the cameras on both phones are similar, including the rear and front optics. While the G51 and G52 have the same 5000mAh battery, the latter’s fast charging is upgraded to 30W from 10W.
