Motorola to roll out 5G update in India for its devices by next month – Times of India

After Apple and Samsung, now Lenovo-owned Motorola has confirmed that it has started rolling out software upgrades for its phones to 5G across both SA (Reliance Jio) and NSA (Airtel & Vi) 5G modes. The smartphone maker has revealed that it has already rolled out a 5G update for the Edge 30 Ultra and the Edge 30 Fusion smartphones this week.
Motorola also added that the other 5G-enabled Moto smartphones will start receiving the same software updates in coming weeks. The company aims to finish the software update for all its 5G-enabled smartphones by the first week of November 2022.

“Motorola 5G smartphones in India, across categories, have hardware support for 11 to 13 5G bands including all 8 Sub 6 GHz 5G bands that have been announced in India. We have already started the roll-out of OTA software updates for enabling 5G across both SA (Reliance Jio) and NSA (Airtel & Vi) 5G modes, simultaneously on Motorola devices, enabling consumers to experience seamless 5G across operators”, Motorola said in a statement.
Recently, Apple and Samsung also started pushing software updates for their 5G-enabled smartphones. Apple said it would push software upgrades to recent models, including the iPhone 14, 13, 12 and iPhone SE, which, industry sources say, do not yet support the network. On the other hand, a Samsung India spokesperson said the company would roll out updates across all its 5G devices by mid-November.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services on Oct. 1 amid much fanfare, with leading telecom operator Reliance Jio saying it would make the service available in four cities, while rival Bharti Airtel targeted eight cities.
