Mr Beast Says He Was Invited to the Titanic Submersible That Went Missing Last Week With 5 Passengers on Board
The missing Oceangate submersible, Titan, has been making headlines and circulating on social media for the past week. Recent reports confirm that the vessel imploded, tragically claiming the lives of its five passengers. Popular YouTuber MrBeast has now revealed that he had been invited for an expedition aboard the Titan earlier this month.
MrBeast shared a screenshot of a conversation with a friend on Twitter. In the conversation, he was invited to the submersible. Alongside the picture, he wrote, “I was invited earlier this month to ride the Titanic submarine, but I declined. It’s kind of scary to think that I could have been on it.”
The screenshot of the text message reads, “I’m going to the Titanic in a submarine late this month. The team would be stoked to have you along. I’m sure you’re also welcome to join…”
Following Logitech’s stock drop, the latest product affected by the incident is an indie horror title called Iron Lung. Interestingly, the game has experienced an increase in sales, possibly due to its resemblance to Oceangate’s expeditions to the Titanic. In Iron Lung, players engage in a first-person submarine simulation, assuming the role of a convict exploring the ocean within the confines of a small submarine bearing the same name. Similar to the real Titan, the Iron Lung is a one-room submarine with limited space for movement and minimal viewing ports and exits.
Iron Lung game records spike in sales
Sharing a screenshot of the sale trends of Iron Lung on Twitter, developer David Szymanski wrote, “This feels so wrong”. While the Titan continues to be a part of popular discourse for all the wrong reasons, it surely has done good for the sales of Iron Lung, which recently announced its film adaptation as well, directed by and starring Markiplier.
