Muzzi, Muniz voted Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Trevor Muzzi and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Carlos Muniz were named Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. MSC Baseball Player of the Week

Carlos Muniz – Cumberlands (Ky.) – So. – C – Naranjito, Puerto Rico

• Muniz batted .833 (15-for-18) with four doubles, five home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored in six games for the Patriots
• He was 4-for-4 with a double, two home runs and six RBIs in the first game and added two hits with another homer, four RBIs and three runs scored in the second contest against Cincinnati-Clermont
• The sophomore posted two hits with a home run and two RBIs in the first outing and two doubles and a run scored in the second game on Friday versus Saint Francis (Ind.)
• He collected three hits with a solo homer in the first game Saturday and added two hits with a double and two runs scored in the series finale with Saint Francis (Ind.)
• This marks the first weekly honor of the season and first of his career for Muniz

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Trevor Muzzi – Cumberland (Tenn.) – So. – Shaw, Miss.

• Muzzi worked 8.0 shutout frames in two outings for the week, including a complete-game three-hit shutout versus Jarvis Christian (Texas)
• The sophomore struck out one in a perfect frame in a midweek contest against Union (Ky.)
• He allowed three hits, one walk and struck out 11 in seven shutout frames versus Jarvis Christian in a 1-0 victory
• This marks the first weekly honor of the season and first of his career for Muzzi
