A new Dragon Ball Super anime project has been confirmed by Akiyo Iyoku—the department head of Dragon Ball. In the latest issue of the V Jump magazine, Iyoku said in an interview that there is already a new project in the series that they’re working on. As Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero gears up for release outside of Japan, the producer of the movie sat down for a Q&A session with the magazine. While he did reveal the big news that there’s something new coming up in the Dragon Ball Super series, he was vague on purpose and didn’t give any specific details on the nature of the project:

New anime project could adapt Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga
While no plans for a new Dragon Ball anime series have been announced yet, there is still a lot of content from the Dragon Ball Super manga that could be adapted. Taking place after the Broly Saga, the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga is the fifth major arc of the manga. It features the energy-absorbing galactic prisoner Moro, who has been behind bars for millions of years. The story begins after the Tournament of Power which sees the Z-Fighters fighting to stop Moro from absorbing entire planets into himself, true to his name as he’s also called “Planet-Eater Moro”.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a direct sequel to the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, and Iyoku has clarified that the anime film and the manga series are on a parallel set of stories without being too strict on building things, and by leaving margins like this it allows them to experiment with both the series with greater freedom.
