New MCU Toys Reveal Jane Foster’s Thor Look from Love and Thunder

Marvel has yet to really begin its marketing push for Thor: Love and Thunder, and we still have yet to see any official photos of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as the new goddess of thunder. But thanks to a new action figure reveal from Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts line, we now have a better idea of how Jane will look when she wields Mjolnir.

Get a closer look at this Jane Foster figure and the accompanying Thor Odinson figure in the slideshow gallery below:

This “Mighty Thor” figure suggests Jane’s MCU costume is sticking fairly closely to the one introduced in Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman’s 2014 Thor comic. Jane will even be rocking long, blond hair now, while her helmet seems specifically designed to mask her identity.

The main deviation from the comics looks to be Mjolnir itself. The action figure comes with two Mjolnir accessories. One of these has seemingly been fused back together following the events of Thor: Ragnarok and still shows the scars of its run-in with Hela. The other appears to be exploding. This could suggest Jane has the ability to separate Mjolnir into its broken pieces and control them, which could be quite the handy trick in the coming battle with Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher.

As for the Odinson, his new look seems to borrow elements from both the previous Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Endgame costumes. Thor has clearly lost the weight he put on in Endgame, but he still has the braided, Viking-inspired hairstyle. His suit is also much more colorful than we’ve ever seen in the MCU, likely a nod to his classic, Jack Kirby-designed comic book costume.

Both figures are priced at 7700 JPY (roughly $67 USD) and are slated for release in June 2022, shortly before the movie’s July 8 release date. Collectors should have no trouble importing the two figures from various online retailers or comic shops.

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi recently described the sequel as “the craziest thing I’ve ever done.” It’s one of many new Marvel projects we’re looking forward to in 2022.
