New Ola S1 and S1 Air electric scooter models launched, 5 Ola electric bikes teased

Ola S1 and Ola S1 Air lineups refreshed

Ola Electric ,in its presentation today, announced the addition of a new 2kWh battery pack option for the Ola S1 premium electric scooter, which is aimed at customers who want a feature-packed EV but without the requirement of a high range figure. This new variant posts a claimed range of 91km on a single charge and a top speed of 90kmph. The motor remains the same and the S1 promises to deliver similar performance as the Ola S1 with a 3kWh battery pack and the more premium Ola S1 Pro with a 4kWh battery pack. However, the top speed on the Ola S1 (2kWh variant) has been limited to 90kmph.

Ola electric has also refreshed the Ola S1 Air which is yet to be delivered to its customers. The Ola S1 Air too now features three battery pack options – 2kWh, 3kWh and 4kWh battery packs. The company claims that these will return a range of 85km, 125km, and 165km respectively. All S1 Air variants will use the 4.5kW motor and will each boast a top speed of 85kmph. Ola has scrapped the 2.5kWh battery pack that was supposed to power the S1 Air and instead will be upgrading customers to a 3kWh battery pack variant free of cost. 

The specifications and colour list remain the same for all Ola S1 Air, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro variants. The Ola S1 electric scooter with a 2kWh battery pack has been priced at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom) and purchased today onwards. The Ola S1 Air with the 2kWh battery pack starts at Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom). Ola Electric will be taking reservations today onwards with deliveries beginning on July 2023. 

Ola electric bike concepts teased

At the end of the presentation, Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal teased the upcoming range of electric bikes from the company. The range includes a sports bike, an adventure tourer, a practical electric bike and neo-retro naked bike. However, there is no word on the expected powertrain features, pricing or availability of these electric two-wheelers as of now.
