New Starfield Videos Showcase More Of Its Worlds

A trio of animated trailers have provided new information about the worlds you will explore and the characters you will meet in Starfield. This series, called The Settled Systems, showcase the game’s myriad role-playing paths and systems through short animated stories.

First up is Supra Et Ultra, which tells the tale of space courier Kent. Upon visiting New Atlantis, the capital of the United Colonies, Kent joins up with the UC Vanguard. He then dons an imposing uniform and takes off in war-ready spacecraft to battle pirates (and earn oodles of cash and a lavish apartment in exchange). The Vanguard is one of the faction players can join in Starfield, if they want to police the stars.

The Hand That Feeds shows off the pleasure city Neon on Volii Alpha. Ada and Harper scrape out a living on the underground of the city, pickpocketing the wealthy tourists. The partners come into conflict when Ada seeks more information about the mysterious and powerful Ryujin Industries. The video showcases both criminal and corporate sides of Starfield’s setting. Like other Bethesda, you can join criminal orgs, pickpocket NPCs, and align yourself with large professional orgs, which may or may not have secret motivations.

Where Hope Is Built is set in Akila City on the planet of Akila, the capital of the Freestar Collective. This short tells the story of Vanna, an orphan of the colony wars, as she scourges parts and material to rebuild her parent’s old ship. Like Vanna, you’ll be able to loot old wreckages to build your own vessels.

In other Starfield news, Microsoft anticipates that Starfield’s Xbox exclusivity will result in millions of lost sales, but it hopes to recoup the money by selling Game Pass subscriptions and consoles.
