New Teaser Featuring Margot Robbie and Kate McKinnon Reveals a Major Detail About the Story

Warner Brothers released a new teaser on 5th July, which is about 20 seconds long, but gives away a major detail about the story. It features Kate McKinnon’s Barbie who drops a truth bomb on Margot Robbie’s Barbie, that should act as a major plot point in the movie.

Barbie gets new teaser weeks ahead of launch

The teaser starts with Barbie ‘malfunctioning’, as it leads up to her meeting with Weird Barbie. Here’s when she tells Barbie “Find the girl who is playing with you”. To this, Barbie is shockingly asks, “Playing with me?”, right after which we see a shot of a young girl, who is probably called Gloria, as can be seen on the letter blocks in her play tent. We can also see several broken Barbie dolls in the carton, along with an UNO Stacko pack, which is another Mattel product. Weird Barbie goes on to explain, “We’re all being played with babe.” She pulls down a poster of a drawing that looks like a child scribbled and drew herself together with Weird Barbie.

With that being said, we now know that Barbie leaves Barbie Land, not just, to “learn the truth about the world”, but also to look for her owner. Check out this new teaser right here.

Barbie is coming to theatres on July 21st. It features an ensemble cast starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and Will Ferrell in leading roles. The movie is directed by Greta Gerwig.
