Disney revealed a new trailer for The Little Mermaid, and it gave us our best look yet at the live-action remake of the animated classic.
Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy debuted the trailer live on stage during the Oscars 2023. You can take a look at the trailer for yourself below.
The trailer opens with Ariel rescuing Eric after he falls into the ocean, and washing ashore with him. We then get a look at King Triton, where he yells at Ariel for her fascination with humans. Ariel then goes to Ursula and and makes the infamous deal with the devil to get her human legs.
We then see Ariel singing Part Of Your World, as the trailer shows montages of her under the ocean with other mermaids and sea life, and spending time with Eric on land. We also see the iconic shot of Ariel singing on the rock. The trailer also shows the live-action versions of Scuttle and Sebastian, as they react to Ariel with her human legs.
Disney also released a new poster for the movie that prominently features Ariel, King Triton, Ursula, and Eric.
The Little Mermaid is Disney’s latest live-action remake, and it stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as the evil Ursula. In addition to the songs you know and love from the original, the remake will have four new original songs from the collaboration between Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The movie is hitting theaters on May 26.
