Newcastle boss Eddie Howe will be rewarded for his efforts this season by being given a £150million warchest for the summer transfer window, according to reports. The Magpies are up to third in the table following their 6-1 thrashing of Tottenham at the weekend, putting them one step closer to securing Champions League football.
It will be the first time since 2002 that Newcastle qualify for Europe’s elite competition in what would represent a huge achievement by Howe. Newcastle’s new owners made it clear when they took over that they were looking to challenge at the top of the table within five years and their performance this year suggests they’re on the right track.

Kieran Tierney
Dan Burn has performed admirably at left-back this season, but Newcastle reportedly want to change things up on that side of the team. Kieran Tierney is seen as their top target with Arsenal supposedly weighing up their options on the Scotland international.
He’s struggled for regular minutes at Arsenal this season following Oleksandr Zinchenko’s arrival. It’s been suggested that Arsenal would be hoping for a bid in the region of £40m to let Tierney go.

Scott McTominay
Midfield is the main area Newcastle will need to bolster in the summer with Howe’s options limited at the moment. Bruno Guimaraes, Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Joelinton have been the go-to options in midfield this season but they’ll need far more options moving forward.
Scott McTominay is seen as a potential option with the Manchester United star facing a decision over his future at Old Trafford this summer. It’s claimed that United will be seeking an offer in the region of £30m for McTominay.
Youri Tielemans
Utilising the exceptional free agent market this summer could be key for Newcastle and there aren’t many better than Leicester star Youri Tielemans. A host of clubs are expected to be in the race to sign Tielemans, but Newcastle could potentially offer the Belgian more minutes than their Premier League rivals.
