Newsome garners MSC Women’s Golfer of the Week honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Pikeville’s (Ky.) Boo Newsome is the Mid-South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

• Newsome finished runner-up at the East Tennesse Collegiate last week at the Johnson City Country Club.
• She concluded the 36-hole event at 5-over par 149 (72-77) to finish four strokes off the winning score.

• Newsome’s best round of the tournament came in an even-par 72 during the opening round.
• She helped the Bears to a fourth-place finish in the 10-team tournament.
• Newsome earns her second conference weekly honor of the season and the fifth of her career.
