Next Nokia flagship phone to launch later this year: report | 91mobiles.com

Nokia brand licensee HMD Global has been launching budget and mid-range phones as the company has been staying away from flagships for a while as they are failing to impress the masses. However, that might change soon as Zhang Yucheng, Nokia Mobile Product Manager in China, said on Weibo (Via IT Home) that the company would introduce a flagship 5G Nokia phone by November 11th, which is when Singles’s Day and annual sales day take place in China. Furthermore, the executive added the new products will be available for purchase during the yearly shopping day.

Nokia 9 PureView released three years ago and there were rumours that the company will release Nokia 9.1 PureView but then rumours started popping regarding the Nokia 9.3 PureView, and Nokia 10 later on. However, neither of the phones have seen light in the day and it remains to be seen which of these phones will debut before the end of this year.

The last Nokia flagship phone was the Nokia 9 PureView.

Separately, there were rumours the Nokia X60 phone was recently rumoured to run on Huawei’s HarmonyOS out of the box as the company has opened the skin for other OEMs as well. However, as it turns out the rumour is baseless and is not true, according to Global Times news outlet. Huawei apparently has no plans to licence out HarmonyOS to other OEMs and it may not change anytime soon. Given how Nokia phones run stock Android skin out of the box, a change from that would definitely hamper the user expectations.

Nokia X60 and X60 Pro could be the company’s upcoming flagship phones. The Pro variant is expected to pack a 200MP camera, that is also likely to debut on the Mi 12 series and 120Hz display. The Nokia X60 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 895 chipset. We should know more details soon.
