Neymar skips PSG title party to play poker at Monaco GP weeks after £880k loss
Neymar has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury and he has undergone surgery to fix the issue. It is understood he attended PSG’s dressing room before training on Friday to speak to his team-mates
When asked about Neymar’s absence in his post-match press conference, PSG boss Christophe Galtier refused to criticise the former Barcelona star for missing the game due to mobility issues.
“He has problems getting around, but he was present yesterday in the locker room for the last training session,” Galtier said. “Don’t jump to conclusions. [Hugo] Ekitike was unable to travel due to a health problem.”
It remains to be seen whether Neymar had permission to travel to Monaco, but his absence will only add fuel to the fire over his future with reports suggesting PSG are keen to offload the £198m star after six years in Paris.
