Nintendo Direct February 2022 date REVEALED? Huge hint dropped by major Ninty name
Ever since the start of the year Nintendo Switch fans have been wondering when the next big Nintendo Direct will be, with multiple rumours pointing towards a Direct dropping in February 2022. And while the House of Mario hasn’t confirmed whether there will be big Direct presentation this month, fans could have found out when the stream will be taking place – from a surprise source. The lovable Charles Martinet is best known for providing the iconic voice of Nintendo mascot Super Mario.
And one Twitter user was left stunned when Martinet, 66, liked a tweet of their’s saying a Nintendo Direct would be happening on February 16.
The tweet in question said: “Nintendo Direct – February 16th Save this tweet..”.
And Twitter user @Xeno_Joey was left stunned to see Martinet had liked this tweet predicting the next Direct date.
After the Mario voice actor liked the tweet @Xeno_Joey posted: “Why did Charles Martinet like this tweet?!?”
At the time of writing, the tweet still appears in the likes section of Martinet’s Twitter profile.
It is important to point out that Martinet likes a lot of tweets, so there could be nothing to this.
But previous leaks have indicated a Nintendo Direct could be happening around this time.
At the start of the year leaker Samus Hunter posted: “I know that there are a lot of people that are eager to find when the next #NintendoDirect is scheduled. Well, I’m hearing some announcement scheduled and launch period for games that right know makes me confident to say that it should arrive before last February Direct (2/17)”.
While recently another leaker, Zippo, has given fans an idea of what could be announced in the next Nintendo Direct.
And if this is anything to go by, the February 2022 Nintendo Direct could be one for the ages.
The leaker, who not too long ago correctly predicted Persona 4 Ultimax was heading to modern-day consoles, said Mario Kart 9 will get announced during the next Direct.
This is an absolutely huge deal, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe the best selling Switch game of all time.
While the last time a brand new mainline game in the Mario Kart series came out was back in 2014, when Mario Kart 8 first launched on the Wii U (the Switch’s Deluxe version includes all the Wii U DLC as well as a revamped Battle mode).
Besides this huge announcement, the reveal of a brand new Xenoblade Chronicles game and a new entry in the Fire Emblem series is also tipped. Zippo said the February 2022 Nintendo Direct could happen as early as next week.
As always with rumours, it’s best to take things with a huge pinch of salt until official confirmation. But if these rumours are spot on, Switch fans should find out whether a February Direct is on the horizon soon.
