Nintendo Direct September 2023 – Nintendo Switch 2 to be revealed this month
It looks like Nintendo is getting ready to hold a brand new Direct conference for the month of September. The latest reports suggest that despite holding a dedicated Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct at the end of August, Nintendo is planning to hold a full Direct presentation at some point later this month. Needless to say, if Nintendo does hold a Direct conference in September, fans will be hoping for a Switch 2 reveal ahead of next year’s rumoured release.
Reports of a September Direct gathered steam after industry insider NateTheHate2 responded to a question on Twitter.
Asked when the next Nintendo Direct conference would take place, NateTheHate2 replied: “Soon-ish.”
In a follow-up tweet, NateTheHate2 said that the recent Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct doesn’t mean Nintendo won’t hold another conference soon.
Nintendo has traditionally held Direct conferences in September, typically to showcase its winter line-up.
While there’s a chance the company could use the conference to unveil the new Nintendo Switch, it’s far more likely the console will be revealed next year.
Instead, fans can expect more news on upcoming games like Super Mario RPG, WarioWare: Move-It and Detective Pikachi 2.
That’s on top of new footage for the inbound Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, as well as a few surprise announcements.
Titled The Teal Mask, the first part of the new Pokemon DLC has a September 13 release date.
The Teal Mask takes place in “the tranquil Land of Kitakami”, whose people are said to live at the base of a great mountain.
“Wear a traditional jinbei outfit as you meet new friends and Pokemon and unravel the mysteries behind the folk tales of this land.
“Encounter Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti – three Pokemon celebrated by the people of the village as heroes who protected the Land of Kitakami in the past.”
