Nintendo Switch Titles Can Now Be Emulated on Android Devices

Have you been craving to play Nintendo Switch titles but do not have the console to play them on, or a PC to emulate them? You can now rejoice as your days of worry have come to an end. A popular Nintendo Switch emulator for PC, Yuzu, has just announced that players will now be able to emulate Switch games on their Android devices, as the software for it is now available on the Google Play Store.

The Yuzu that is coming to Android is not as feature-rich as the PC variant, as the developers are still working things out. At the moment, the devs are just focusing on quality, performance and compatibility in order to make the gameplay experience better for the users. Features such as multiplayer over LAN/LDN, Input Profiles, TAS, and more, are not present in the emulator at the moment.

There’s also a minimum set of hardware requirements to use the Yuzu emulator on Android devices. Firstly, players should use devices that have Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and Adreno GPUs. SoCs such as Exynos and Mediatek will not be able to emulate the game as their GPU drivers are “worse-than-Adreno”. RAM will also be important as Yuzu will expect users to have devices with “SD 865 and 8GB of RAM or better”.

This is great news for players that have been looking to play Switch titles for the longest time, especially with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Excitingly, Yuzu recently released a video that showed TOTK running on a Redmagic 8 Pro, so players might be able to emulate this title on their eligible Android devices pretty soon.
