No Man’s Sky Comes to Mac Devices with Cross Platform and More
It is a big day for gamers that own a Mac, as an extremely popular title has been launched for the platform. Hello Games has announced that it will be bringing No Man’s Sky to Mac after it was announced a year ago at WWDC 2022. The title comes with new features such as Cross Platform Support, Cross Save, and more.
No Man’s Sky will be arriving on Mac with additional features such as High Performance, Optimised Loading, Cross-Platform Play, Cross-Platform Save, and so much more. Interested players can now purchase No Man’s Sky for Mac on Steam. This copy of the title will include all content updates from the past 7 years.
In order to bring the game to Macs, the developers had to build the game from the ground up while using technologies such as Metal and Apple Silicon, while keeping Intel-based Macs in mind too. Players that already own the game can get the title on Steam and download it on their Macs for no additional costs.
Furthermore, cross saves will work across PC and Macs and Cross Platform will enable Mac players to game with the existing enormous player base on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC and even VR. No Man’s Sky also has full controller support on Mac.
Also in terms of performance, players can expect fast loading times thanks to Mac’s internal SSD and consistent performance thanks to MetalFX upscaling. No Man’s Sky will also be supported by Metal 3 so that players can have high quality graphics, without sacrificing too much on their battery and use lower end devices.
Lastly, in terms of supported devices, No Man’s Sky is available for every Apple Silicon Mac, which includes Mac Mini, iMac, Mac Studio, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. In terms of Intel-based Macs, there are some minimum spec requirements. Players should at least have an Intel i5-based Mac with 8GB RAM and Radeon Pro 570X 4GB Graphics Card along with 20 GB storage.
Many are also speculating that No Man’s Sky has been released for Mac so close to Apple’s WWDC 2023 conference because they have some surprise in store for the customers. It is rumoured that Apple will be announcing their Mixed Reality headset at this event which will support VR gameplay. Excitingly, No Man’s Sky also received VR support today, so is Mac bolstering their VR game library before they enter the business. What do you think?
