Nothing Phone (1) arrived last week, and ever since, it has received two software updates — one bringing HDR10+ support and now the second — Nothing OS 1.1.0 — is rolling out, bringing quite a few new features along with some bug fixes. The update is currently rolling out to Nothing Phone (1) globally.
Nothing OS 1.1.0 brings the features announced during the keynote while introducing a bunch of camera and performance optimisations. Further, the update bumps the security patch to July 2022.
Tesla Control and NFT Gallery comes to Nothing OS
Nothing introduced two experimental features — one is the Tesla Control — which will let Tesla owners control their car through a quick toggle. Using this feature requires you to link your Tesla account. This feature allows users to turn on or off lights and AC through their Nothing Phone (1) remotely.
Secondly, the update brings the NFT Gallery — another feature Pei announced during the keynote. The feature lets you show your already minted digital art on your home screen. You will find a new — NFT Gallery — section in the widgets menu.
Do note that these two features are experimental. Also, Nothing Phone (1) users will not be able to use the Tesla Control feature as the company does not sell its cars in the country. However, you can use the ‘NFT Gallery’ if you already own an NFT art.
The new update lets users remove the Search Bar from the home screen.
Several camera optimisations were introduced in the latest update, including an option to use Glyph fill light for clicking portrait images in low light. The update promises to improve the photo quality in low-light scenarios. Also, colour consistency has been improved for both the main and ultra-wide sensors.
Nothing also fixed a few bugs, including fingerprint and face unlock experiences. Glyph Interface is said to be more reliable after the latest update. Further, the battery life optimisations are said to be done to improve the standby time.
