Carl Pei’s consumer electronics brand Nothing has finally announced the launch date of its second smartphone. The company will launch the Nothing Phone (2) in global markets along with India on July 11. The event will start at 8:30pm. Here’s what we know about the upcoming Nothing phone
Nothing Phone (2) to be manufactured in India for local sales
Nothing India VP and GM Manu Sharma has confirmed that the handset will indeed be made in India and will be sold in the country itself. In a statement to PTI, Sharma said “Phone (2) is going to be manufactured in India – Tamil Nadu. The phones manufactured in India will be for consumption in India.”
Nothing Phone (2) to be powered by Qualcomm processor
Nothing has also confirmed the processor for the upcoming Nothing Phone (2). The tech company has announced that it has collaborated with Qualcomm to equip the phone with the powerful Snapdragon processor. As announced by the company, Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series chipset, allegedly Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Nothing Phone (2) expected design
Alleged renders of the Phone (2) have already been shared by Smartprix. In the leaked images, one can see that the LED lights cover more area on the phone’s back panel. The lighting elements surrounding the camera module also seem to be redesigned giving an enhanced ;visual appeal’.
Edges on the device will be curved. The phone is rumoured to be offered in two colour variants – Black and White.
Nothing Phone (2) expected features
Nothing Phone (2) is said to run on Android 13 out of the box. The device is rumorued to house a 4,700mAH battery and a 6.7-inch FHD+ display.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei has previously said that the Nothing Phone (2) will be ‘more premium’ than the current Nothing smartphone. The handset is expected to be priced around ₹40,000 in India. Pei has also confirmed that the handset will also be launched in the US later this year.
