Nottingham Forest fan Robert Biggs jailed for six months after Billy Sharp headbutt
Nottingham Forest season-ticket holder Robert Biggs has been jailed for 24 weeks for his sickening headbutt on Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp following Tuesday night’s Championship play-off semi-final second leg at the City Ground. The 30-year-old supporter, whose shameful actions sadly overshadowed his side’s dramatic penalty-shootout triumph over the Blades, pleaded guilty to assaulting the striker at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Biggs from Ilkeston, Derbyshire will now spend six months behind bars, whilst he also received a 10-year ban from football.
A second charge, in which Biggs was excused of entering the field of play has since been withdrawn.
