Who will you be guiding to glory?

This week sees the release of the exciting, multi-threaded RPG Octopath Traveler II, and publisher Square Enix is hoping to whet the whistles of adventure fans everywhere by offering up a slice of the anticipated sequel — with a new demo now available on PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

The Octopath Traveler II demo offers up three hours of folk-town shenanigans, allowing players to experience some time from each of the sequel’s eight protagonists — each destined to follow their own paths to fate and glory. Choose your hero and set foot in the 19th-century world of Solista, speaking with the locals, embarking upon quests and missions, and exploring the new and potent “Latent Powers” mechanic.

Each of the adventure’s eight protagonists has their own background, purpose, and skillset, but whether you choose the vengeance-filled path of Osvald the Scholar, the slick-tongued world of Partitio the Merchant, the shadowy past of Throne the Thief, or the mythic life of Temenos the Cleric, Octopath Traveler II hopes to deliver a layered tale of intrigue, suspense, adventure, and action for all lovers of the fantasy RPG genre.

Go check out the demo and see whether it encourages you to don your walking boots.

Octopath Traveler II launches February 24 on PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
