Ola Electric recently took the wraps off of the new entry-level electric scooter in their lineup, the Ola S1. Launched exactly one year after the Ola S1 Pro, the Ola S1 promises to be almost like its bigger sibling but without some added frills. Today, Ola Electric will open up its purchase window, and prospective buyers who have pre-booked the e-scooter can order their new EV. We sum up the entire booking procedure in this story.
The Ola S1 undercuts its higher-specced rival by a substantial margin without having to compromise on a lot. The S1, with its 141km range and 95kmph top speed, will be able to meet the requirements of the majority of buyers.
Ola S1 booking window
The Ola S1 affordable electric scooter’s booking window opens today. Ola Electric will be taking orders from customers who have already reserved their Ola S1 during the reservation period from August 15th to August 31st. Customers who have such an S1 reserved will be able to participate in today’s early bird booking window and further proceed with their order.
Customers who intend to buy the Ola S1 but haven’t reserved one for themselves during the above-mentioned period can use the booking window that Ola Electric has scheduled. Ola Electric will allow fresh customers to get a chance to order their Ola S1 tomorrow until stocks last.
Price and availability
The Ola S1 will be available for Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom excluding state-specific subsidies) as an introductory price offering. This price will be valid for the initial introductory batch of stock, and Ola Electric could deflect this price post the stock clears out.
The Ola S1 will be available in et Black, Porcelain White, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, and Liquid Silver colour options. Ola Electric will also offer an extended 5-year warranty plan that can be added at an extra cost.
Ola Electric claims to start delivering the Ola S1 e-scooters on September 7th.
Ola S1 specifications
The Ola S1 is a slightly watered-down version of the more expensive Ola S1 Pro, with whom the latest affordable electric scooter from Ola Electric shares the stable. The Ola S1 gets an electric motor that generates a peak power of 8.5kW and rated power of 5.5kW. This enables the S1 to travel up to a top speed of 95kmph.
The motor is paired to a slightly smaller 3kWh battery pack and delivers an ARAI-certified range of 141km on a single charge. The true range, according to Ola Electric, is 128km when riding in Eco Mode. The battery takes 5 hours to a full charge when charging at home.
The Ola S1 retains much of the extensive feature suite that’s found on the S1 Pro, which means it gets Music Playback, Navigation, Companion App, and Reverse Mode.
