ONE Fight Night 8 live weigh-in and hydration test results
ONE Championship Fight Night 8 is set for Saturday morning in Singapore, and on Thursday evening, the 20 fighters set to compete at the event will undergo their pre-fight weight and hydration checks.
ONE Fight Night 8 will be headlined by a flyweight kickboxing title fight, with Thai champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 defending his belt against short-notice challenger Danial Williams, from Australia.
Superlek had originally been set to battle Muay Thai champ Rodtang Jitmuangnon, but agreed to fight Williams on days’ notice when Rodtang was forced out of the fight. Williams had been set to fight Rui Botelho in an strawweight Muay Thai fight.
The co-main event for the card will see undisputed atomweight Muay Thai champ Janet Todd take on Janet Todd, the division’s interim champ, in an anticipated title unification bout. The Brazilian and American were originally set to fight in December, but were delayed after Todd tested positive for Covid-19.
The card will also feature a high-stakes atomweight MMA clash, with South Korean veteran Ham Seo-hee taking on rising Japanese star Itsuki Hirata. The pair were first matched up in November, but the fight fell through when Hirata missed weight.
Hirata will have more eyes on her than anyone at Thursday’s pre-fight weight and hydration checks, but as ONE fans know, things can get pretty chaotic once the test results start rolling in.
Stay tuned for full coverage of Thursday’s test results.
