ONE Championship Fight Night 9 is set for Saturday morning in Bangkok, Thailand’s world famous Lumpinee Stadium, with nine Muay Thai and MMA bouts on the docket.
The card will be topped by a bantamweight Muay Thai title fight, with champion Nong-O Hama looking for a record-setting eighth consecutive title defence at the expense of fearsome challenger Jonathan Haggerty, a former champion down at flyweight.
In the co-main event, rising lightweight MMA contender Halil Amir, from Turkey, will attempt to continue his march to title contention opposite Swiss newcomer Maurice Abevi, who will be debuting with an undefeated record.
Several other prominent MMA contenders are set to appear on the card, including ranked strawweights Bokang Masunyane and Hiroba Minowa, who will fight each other, and Denice Zamboanga, who will stake her No 3 spot in the women’s strawweight rankings opposite Julie Mezabarba.
The card will kick off at 7:00am local time, starting with a bantamweight MMA clash between Filipino prospect Jhanlo Mark Sangiao and Argentine combat sports veteran Matias Farinelli.
