OnePlus 10 series to come powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, company reveals – Times of India

With Qualcomm announcing its latest generation Snapdragon chipset, smartphone companies are revealing the names of their flagship device that will ship with the processor. Joining the list is OnePlus which has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone series will come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. While it did not reveal the name of the device, but it is likely that the series in question is the OnePlus 10.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is the world’s first to feature a 10 Gigabit 5G modem-RF solution as well as an 18-bit ISP. It is manufactured using 4nm process technology powered by Kryo CPU with Arm Cortex-X2 technology clocked at up to 3.0 GHz. The chipset is claimed to deliver 30% more power and 25% more efficiency than its predecessor. It comes equipped with the company’s fastest AI Engine for mobile powered by 7thGen Qualcomm AI Engine
OnePlus 10 series is expected to be unveiled in early 2022. The series may consist of the OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro. Rumour mill has been buzzing with the expected features and specs of these devices.
OnePlus 10 Pro is rumoured to offer a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with 1440 x 3216 pixel resolution. The display is said to come with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The handset is said to come with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and may offer up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.
OnePlus 10, on the other hand, is expected to offer a 50MP ultra-wide camera paired with a 48MP main sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens. At the front, it may come with a 32MP camera.
Both the handsets are rumoured to come with Hasselblad rear camera setup. On the software front, the smartphones are expected to ship with Android 12 based OxygenOS 12.
