OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro OxygenOS 12 update pulled officially after users complain of bugs | 91mobiles.com
The inconsistent issues with the latest OxygenOS 12 build on the two smartphones include crashing menus, inconsistent performance, trouble with calls, bad animations, broken autofill, slower Wi-Fi speed, and many more bugs. Early adopters of the update also said that that they can’t customise icons, status bar, battery icons, or turn the Google Feed off during day-to-day operations.
According to Android Police, OnePlus stated, “We are aware of the issues caused by the OxygenOS 12 update and our software team is fixing them.” Further, the brand added, “We will suspend this software update and roll out a new iteration as soon as possible,” meaning we could see a proper bug-free update in the near future.
XDA Developers even released a tutorial, recommending OnePlus 9 Pro users to factory reset their smartphone in order to enjoy a bug-free experience on the smartphone, which is usually not recommended after a software update, especially through OTA.
It is believed that the majority of the issues are coming after switching from OxygenOS to ColorOS codebase and, hence, various settings are not transitioning properly after the new update.

Nonetheless, a new OxygenOS 12 update is expected to launch soon for the two 9-series smartphones, and we hope that the updates for OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 series will not give such an experience for its users. While OnePlus has promised to soon release a new version of the current OxygenOS 12 update, a specific date or a timeline has not been revealed yet by the company.
