OnePlus Ace 3 Display & Camera Specs Tipped Ahead of Dec 17 Launch

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is speculated to announce the sub-flagship phone aka OnePlus Ac 3 in China this month. Rumors have already started flowing through the rumor mill giving a peek into what to expect. Moreover, the latest camera and other specs coming from Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo have added to the excitement as well.

OnePlus Ace 3 Camera Specs

First up, DCS’s post on Weibo sheds light on what not to expect with the OnePlus Ace 3 camera. The Sony IMX709 telephoto camera that was earlier teased to star in Ace 3 is not happening. For the unversed, Ace 3 was likely to get a 32MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom but it’s not gonna happen now if the rumors are true.

Revised OnePlus Ace 3 camera specs include a 50MP primary camera clubbed with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP auxiliary macro shooter completing its triple rear camera setup. The front, on the other hand, will be handled by a 16MP camera.

OnePlus Ace 3 Display Specs Tipped

It’s not just the camera specs but we have seen display specs for the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3 that looks similar to the flagship OnePlus 12 launched in China earlier this month.

The phone is likely to host a 6.78” BOE X1 display with a resolution of 1.5K. It will have curved edges which is great for visibility while having the same levels of PWM dimming and peak brightness as that of the OnePlus 12. For reference, the flagship phone can get as bright as 1,600 nits (typical) and 4,500 nits (on HDR) while the PWM dimming is at 2,160Hz. OnePlus Ace 3 is likely a must-buy sub-flagship phone thanks to the combination of specs we have seen in recent leaks.

OnePlus Ace 3 Specs (Leaked)

According to DCS, the OnePlus Ace 3 is likely to sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a step down from the OnePlus 12’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Note that this is the same processor we saw with the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, also launched in China only.

Another bit of update that we could scour is with the battery at 5,500mAh paired alongside 100W fast charging tech. The phone is likely to have a full-metal frame, a much-needed upgrade from Ace 2 Pro’s plastic frame that we could get.

OnePlus Ace 3 Launch Date Timeline

OnePlus Ace 2 was launched on February 7 this year followed by Ace 2 Pro on August 16. Also, OnePlus hasn’t officially shared the timeline but given the update from tipster WHYLAB who referred to a Chinese retailer site, the OnePlus Ace 3 is likely making its debut on December 17 which is a Sunday. It remains to be seen whether the OnePlus Ace 3 release date turns out to be true or not.
