OnePlus set to launch its first-ever keyboard on December 15 – Times of India

OnePlus is set to expand its product portfolio with the launch of its first-ever keyboard. The Chinese tech company has confirmed the launch while announcing its 9th anniversary celebrations.

OnePlus keyboard: What we know

The company has said that it is initiating a new platform called OnePlus Featuring. OnePlus has said that it plans to work with partners “which share the same vision” of the company and introduce products. OnePlus said that it held several rounds of voting among its users to decide which new product to produce next. “As per the verdict, OnePlus will soon release its very first mechanical and customisable keyboard,” said the company.
OnePlus is partnering with mechanical keyboard manufacturer Keychron. “It is the first time that OnePlus introduces an industry partner to join its community co-creation process, and the product will be available globally,” said the company in a statement.
It’s clear that OnePlus will launch the keyboard globally but there is now word about the pricing of the upcoming device. OnePlus hasn’t mentioned anything else about the keyboard in terms of compatibility or any other features. However, Keychron on its website says that its keyboards are “100% compatible with multiple operating systems. Perfectly suitable for macOS, Windows, iOS, as well as Android.”
On the OnePlus Featuring webpage, OnePlus noted, “The first-ever OnePlus mechanical keyboard is fully customisable and features Keychron technology. Get ready to discover more on December 15.” We can expect to hear more about the upcoming keyboard on December 15.
Meanwhile, rumours have suggested that OnePlus may also add another new category to its existing portfolio of devices. Rumours about the first tablet — OnePlus Pad — have also been doing the rounds for a while. The OnePlus Pad (rumoured name) is speculated to launch in the first quarter of 2023.
