Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro: Design & Fit

If we talk about the design, it is pretty impressive. Although Oppo has not made many big design changes in comparison to its predecessor Enco Air 2 Pro, still you would find the appearance likable. The pebbled-shaped charging case looks nice and feels more premium when compared to the case of Enco Air 2 Pro. We received the green color model for review and liked the shade. But if you want even simpler TWS, a white color variant can be considered.

The weight of the Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro has slightly increased but you can still easily carry it in your pocket or your purse. One more thing I liked was that the case is smooth but doesn’t catch smudges easily. The only downside is that the case gets scratched when kept in a purse with other belongings like keys, comb, etc.

Talking about the buds, Enco Air 3 Pro is different from Enco Air 2 Pro but the appearance is good. The buds have a strong build quality and are comfortable to wear in the ears. The stem is slightly long due to which buds fit well in the ear. If the size of the ear tip that comes attached to the buds doesn’t fit you, then you can choose from the ear tips provided in the box.

The Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro comes with an IP55 rating, which means these can be easily used in the rainy season nowadays. The buds are protected from water and dust both. The buds are lightweight and premium in looks, thus making it a good entrant to the under Rs 5,000 price category.

Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro: Connectivity, Controls & Features

Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Although this allows the buds to connect to almost any smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc seamlessly, to understand the controls and touch features of the buds, downloading Hey Melody App is a must. Otherwise, too Enco Air 3 Pro comes with Google Fast Pair support that connects it to other devices within seconds. We did not face any problems with regard to its range or Bluetooth pairing.

The Enco Air 3 Pro comes with a wear-detection feature, which is pretty impressive at this price point. In addition to that, the buds have dual pairing support which allows it to connect to two devices simultaneously. We tried connecting it to a laptop and smartphone together but it didn’t connect to the laptop. However, when we tried the same with 2 smartphones, it worked.

Now let’s talk about one of its USP Active Noise Cancellations, for which you will need the Hey Melody App on your device. Using the app, you can control ANC and Transparent mode better. However, if you have an Oppo or OnePlus device, then even without the app all these options can be found in the Bluetooth menu.

The buds offer up to 49dB of ANC which cancels out most of the noise around. There aren’t one or two but 4 ANC options available- Smart, Max, Moderate, and Mild, using which one can choose what level of ANC he/she needs.

We used the buds on Max mode when outside the house and the buds did cancel most of the noise around. Although very loud sounds like the honking of a vehicle or someone shouting is slightly audible, they can be ignored.

Talking about indoor settings, the buds cancel out the noises of the AC, Fan, etc completely. Considering the cost of the TWS, its ANC is quite successful but if you compare it to AirPods or Galaxy Buds, that’ll be unfair as there’s a huge difference between the prices.

Talking about the touch controls, the buds come with in-ear detection which means the audio pauses automatically if you remove the buds out of your ear, and as soon as you plug it back in, the audio resumes on its own. Apart from this, double tapping on either of the buds plays the next music track or the next video. Tapping for 1 second and then holding allows you to switch between ANC and transparent mode. Tapping and holding for 3 seconds enables Bluetooth.

The earbuds also allow you to click photos. If the camera app is open, then double tapping on the bud will click the photo in 2 seconds.

Touch features are decent but there is no option for volume control. Otherwise, everything is good.

Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro Review: Sound Quality & Call Quality

We used Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro at home as well as in the office and our calling experience was decent. Microphones work well and there were no interruptions while calling. Although if you or the person at the other end is in a very noisy environment, then hearing voices will be difficult, then you can’t expect more than this at a price of Rs. 4,999.

The sound quality of Enco Air 3 Pro is good. There are certain options to improve sound quality like Oppo Alive Audio Mode, Spatial Audio rendering technology, and more, using which the audio quality comes out good while gaming as well as listening to songs mode.

The Buds also come with Golden Sound Feature that tests your ear canal to give an immersive audio experience. There is a 12.4mm driver that gives good sound quality. The Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro comes with LDAC codec support as well. By default, buds work with AAC codec but this can be changed from Bluetooth settings. Keep in mind, that the LDAC codec drains more battery than the AAC codec.

We listened to quite a few songs and the audio sounded natural. You can hear the instruments being used clearly and the vocals of the singer are clear as well. The bass has less detailing and sounds too loud, but otherwise, the sound quality is decent.

Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro TWS Review: Battery

We loved the Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro in terms of its battery. We used it for 6-7 hours daily and these still lasted for 3 days. There is a playback time of around 30 hours with the case and the buds themselves last for about 7 hours on a single charge. Switching on ANC leads to decreasing this time to around 4.5 hours.

The earbuds come with fast charging support so charging for 10 minutes gives 2 hours of playback time.

Review Verdict: Should you buy Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro?

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro has done full justice considering its price point. It is a stylish pair of buds with premium features like ANC, Wear detection, multiple connectivity, long battery life, good audio, LDAC support, and more.

All in all, you can surely consider Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro Buds if you are looking to buy a TWS device for 5k.
